Appellation in the southern section of the French region of Rhone , opposite the area located on the opposite bank Côtes du Vivarais . By the year 2009, the area was called Coteaux du Tricastin, the new name comes from the municipality of Grignan in the department of Drôme and the Renaissance castle Adhémar together. The reason for this Change of name was a strong decline in sales after several incidents in nuclear power plant Tricastin in July 2008, when it came also to contamination of soil with uranium. The vineyards cover nearly 2,600 hectares in 22 communities along the left bank of the Rhone from La Baume-de-Transit to Les Granges-Gontardes in the department of Vaucluse . Passes through the area over 100 km long road wine.
