Regional appellation in Burgundy area of Côte Chalonnaise between the municipalities of Saint-Chagny and Gengoux-le-National. It was created in 1990 and includes 44 municipalities in the department of Saone-et-Loire. The red wines produced from Pinot Noir and Gamay Noir and make up about three-quarters of the production volume. The white wines are made from Chardonnay. See also Burgundy .
