The appellation (also Coteaux Varois en Provence) in the center of the French wine-growing region of Provence is an enclave within the range of Côtes de Provence . The vineyards cover 1750 hectares in 28 municipalities in the department of Var . In the center is the town of Brignoles, once the summer residence of the Counts of Provence. The generated two-thirds red wine is blended from at least 80% Mourvedre, Syrah and Grenache, Cinsault, and a maximum of 20%, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Rosé is composed of at least 70% Mourvedre, Syrah and Grenache Noir at least 40% and a maximum of 30% Cinsault, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tibouren. The white wine is produced from at least 30% Vermentino and a maximum of 30% Semillon, a maximum of 25% Ugni Blanc, Clairette and Grenache Blanc as well. Known producer Domaine de Chabert, Domaine du Deffends, Château la Galisse, are Margillerie Château, Château Real Martin, Routas Château, Domaine de St-Jean, Chateau Thuerry, Doimaine de Valcolombe.
