Black berries on the nose, initially firm with light roasted and smoky notes, fleshy animal notes, slightly rubbery, with aeration berry fruit becomes more clear, licorice and mineral notes. Firm on the palate, concentrated and juicy, more light fleshy and roasted notes, dried herbs, meat stock, prominent mineral notes, fairly prominent astringent, slightly sandy, quite fine tannins, persistent and quite deep, rustic style in a positive sense, tart tobacco notes, long finish.
2008-08-18 (87+):
Fairly mature nose, slightly oxidative with some rubbery notes, roasted notes and some lovage, preserved berries. mineral notes, increasingly intense herbaceous notes. Initially appears mature on the palate, earthy notes with slightly overripe preserved berry fruit, with notes of bruised apples and dried herbs, light plummy notes in the background, dusty and sandy tannins, evenly distributed, full-bodied and full of character, individualistic, rustic in the best possible sense, complex with good depth, surprisingly appears increasingly fresh with aeration, very unusual and uncompromising, but quite impressive, slightly astringent on quite a long finish.

Very firm, lively nose, preserved black berries and cherries, delicate hint of chocolate, tart dried herbs, some soup stock, mineral notes and a hint of citrus. Firm and quite juicy on the palate, clear fruit, noticeable acid bite, still has some carbon dioxide, candied herbaceous notes, hint of chocolate again, fine sandy, racy, original tannins, full-bodied and persistent, very creamy, also has cool notes, hint of citrus in the background, prominent mineral notes, good depth, cedary traces on a very good long finish. Tremendously refreshing in spite of its full body, because of its uncompromisingly unmodern style, totally dedicated to its origins.
2008-11-26 (88):
Firm nose, quite spicy, preserved and partly dried cherries and plums, berries, sweetish spice and mineral traces. Firm and juicy on the palate, lively acidity, touch of carbon dioxide, prominet but fine tannins, persistent, prominent bite, herbaceous notes, still appears youthful, very full-bodied, but not at all heavy, very good finish.
