The most important grape varieties
DOC for red, rosé and white wines in the Italian region of Tuscany . The zone includes the two communities Carmignano and Poggio a Caiano in the province of Prato and is identical to that of the DOCG Carmignano . There are four DOC designations. The red Barco Reale di Carmignano is made from Sangiovese (50-90%), Cabernet Franc and / or Cabernet Sauvignon (10-20%), Canaiolo Nero (up to 10%), any use of the white Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia and Canaiolo Bianco (max. 10%), and other permitted red varieties (up to 10%) blended. The Rosato Tues Carmigano has the same conditions. The white Vin Santo di Carmignano is made from Trebbiano Toscano and / or Malvasia Bianca Lunga (75-100%) and pressed other permitted white varieties (up to 25%) in the versions Secco and Amabile. The rosé Vin Santo di Carmignano Occhio di Pernice is made from Sangiovese (50-100%), and any other permitted red and white (50%) produced varieties. Both have 16% alcohol content and aging three years in cask, aged four years and they are allowed to reserve call.
