The former according to the county in the Middle Ages (mostly present-day department Basses-Pyrenees) named small appellation in the southwest corner of South West France . The wines may be produced in three separate areas. The first two are the appellations Jurançon and Madiran together. The third area covers over 200 hectares in 13 communities near Orthez and Salies-de-Béarn on the edge of the Pyrenees in Basque country . This may only use the AC-Béarn Bellocq. Red and rose wines are blended from Tannat (maximum 60%), Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc (Bouchy, Couahort, Trouchet), Fer, Manseng Noir and Noir Courbu. The white wines produced in small quantities consist of Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, Courbu Blanc, Lauzet, Camaralet, Raffait and Sauvignon Blanc. Well-known producers are de CV Bellocq, Bouscassé Domaine, Domaine de Guilhémas, and Domaine Clos Guirouilh Larribere.
