The most important grape varieties
DOC area for white, red and rose wines in the Italian region of Tuscany , which is named after the town on the coast of Livorno. Bolgheri is located at the property "Guada al Tasso," one of the many wine growing empire of Antinori . The zone includes the town of Castagneto Carducci in the province of Livorno. The varietal types Sauvignon and Vermentino must contain at least 85% of the varieties, the rest must be allowed white varieties. The Bianco is blended from Trebbiano Toscano, Sauvignon and Vermentino (each 10-70%), and other permitted white varieties (up to 30%). Rosso (also known as Superior) and Rosato is made from Cabernet Sauvignon (10-80%), Sangiovese and Merlot blended (according to 70%), and other permitted red varieties (30%). The Rosso came in 1994, not least through the Super-Tuscans (previously VdT's) Ornellaia and Sassicaia DOC to honor - the latter even got their own sub-area of Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC. The rosé, sweet Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice is produced from Sangiovese (50-70%), Malvasia Nera (30-50%), and other permitted red varieties (30%). He has 16% alcohol content and matures three years in small barrels, aged four years and he may reserve call.
