The same city named after the local appeal lies in the far west area of Touraine , and is crossed by the Loire tributary Changeon. The vineyards of sand, gravel and sandstone soils include 1,250 hectares of vineyards and are located on the right bank of the Loire . They are almost one hundred percent Cabernet Franc (here Breton) planted. The locally produced red wines are vinified and long-lasting tannins of Cabernet Franc (at least 90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon, and are considered the best of the Loire. In small quantities, a rosé is produced, the whites are not classified as AC. The municipality of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil in the northwest of the area has the right to an appeal. Well-known producers are Amirault, Domaine du Chene Arrault, Hubert Audebert, Domaine du Bel Air, Billet, Jacky Blot, Domaine Breton Caslot, Max Cognard, Domaine Delaunay Domaine Druet, Paul Gambier, Pascal Lorieux, Domaine des mail hole, Jean-Paul Malibeau, Clos des Quarterons.
