The white grape variety native to Slovenia . Synonyms are Bela Ranina, Bouvier Blanc (France), Bouvirovo hrozno (Slovakia), Bouviertraube (Austria), Radgonska Ranina, Ranina and Ranina Bela (Slovenia). It was from the vineyard owners Clotar Bouvier Clotar discovered (1853-1930) in 1900 on his property in Duke Castle in the former Upper Radkersburg (now Slovenia) amidst other vines.
