The white grape variety (also FR 250-75) is a new breed between Merzling x GM 6493 and GM 6494 (See the history there). The crossing was made in 1975 by Norbert Norbert Becker (B. 1937) at the National Institute of Viticulture in Freiburg (Germany) (Baden-Wuerttemberg). The name was in honor of German viticulture pioneer Johann Philipp John Bronner (1792-1864) awarded.
