The most important grape varieties
Named after the town of Saint-Mont VDQS area lies north of the AC Madiran wine growing region in the south of Southwest France . The vineyards cover 1,000 hectares. Red and rose wines are blended from Tannat (at least 70%), Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Fer. The white wine is made Arrufiac, Clairette, and Courbu (at least 50%) and Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng. Well-known producers are Domaine de Maouries Plaimont and Producers.
