The most important grape varieties
After the congregation named Subappellation of Côtes du Roussillon in the southern French region of Roussillon. The full name is Cotes du Roussillon-Villages Caramany. As a special rule for the red wine must be at least 60% of the grapes, however, (which shall exceed 60%) of the total proportion of Carignan using carbonic maceration are (carbonic maceration) fermented. The reason for this peculiar requirement is that the local co-Caramany in 1964, and used as the first producer in France this technique.
