Cabernet Cubin
The red grapes (also We 70-281-35) is among a new breed Blauer Limberger (Lemberger) x Cabernet Sauvignon (clone Levadoux). The crossing took place in 1970 at the National Training and Research Institute for Viticulture and Horticulture in the Vineyard (Württemberg). The admission and the Plant Variety Protection was granted in 1999. The late-maturing, high yielding variety is resistant to drought and fungal infection. In 2009 it was cultivated in Germany on 59 hectares of vineyards. It provides color-rich, tannic wines with some bold Cabernet Sauvignon flavors, which are also very good for a barrel expansion. With the same parents was the variety Cabernet Mitos .
