The Winery
The cooperative winery is located in St. Paul's, the northern part of Eppan (Appiano) in the area South Tyrol (Alto Adige) in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige . It was founded in 1907 from 36 wine producers. President Leopold Kagermann, CEO and winemaker Dr. Alessandro Righi Wolfgang Tratter. The historic cellar extends over four floors. The 215 members cultivate over 175 acres of vineyards in various locations around St. Paul. The most important are Eggleiten, Eppan mountain Gfillhof, Huber field Luziafeld, Plötzner and St. Justina. There are cultivated varieties of white wine Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Müller Thurgau, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Goldmuskateller, and the red varieties Vernatsch, Lagrein, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Quality criteria are friendly management, consulting and training of the wine growers, encouraging quality groups, and reduced yields. The wines are produced in the Classic lines, exclusive and passion. The product range includes several DOC wines of the area South Tyrol . Premium wines, Pinot Blanc Plötzner, Pinot Blanc is passion, and 12 months in barrique Reserve Pinot Noir Passion. Are also produced flaschenvergorene sect. Every year about 1.2 million bottles of wine are produced, of which about one third is exported. In 2005 the company took over the wine and sparkling wine Koessler including wine warehouses, suppliers and customers.

Clear, dry, creamy fruit on the palate, quite firm, light vegetal, earthy and nutty notes, elegant, lively acidity, again slightly muted, good substance and persistence, mineral notes in the background, quite full-bodied, good to very good finish.
