The most important grape varieties
DOC for red, rosé and white wines in the Italian region Lazio . The zone includes areas of the municipalities Allumiere, Cerveteri, Civitavecchia, Ladispoli, Rome, Santa Marinella and Tolfa in the province of Roma and the community in the province of Viterbo, Tarquinia. The vineyards lie in a long covered hills in the Tolfa mountains along the Tyrrhenian coast. The Bianco is made from Trebbiano Toscano and / or Trebbiano Giallo (50-100%), Malvasia Bianca di Candia and / or Malvasia del Lazio (35%), and any other permitted white varieties (up to 30%) blended. Rosso (also called Novello) and are produced from Sangiovese Rosato and / or Montepulciano (60-100%), Cesanese Comune (up to 25%), and other permitted red varieties (30%). All are aged in Secco and Amabile and produced as a sparkling wine.
