DOCG area (also briefly Piglio) for dry red wine in the Italian region Lazio . The DOC classification was carried out in 1973. Launched in May 2008 was DOCG classification is the first in the region. The zone includes areas of the municipalities Acuto, Anagni, the eponymous Piglio, Paliano and Serrone in the province of Frosinone. The wine is blended from Cesanese di Affile and / or Cesanese Comune (90-100%), and in any combination other approved varieties (up to 10%). With an aging of 18 months should the additional designation reserve may be used. Two other areas are Cesanese-DOC Cesanese di Affile and Cesanese di Olevano Romano .
