Named after the city of the same appellation on the left bank of the Loire is an enclave in the northeast area of the Touraine . The former VDQS area was classified in 1993. Of the 2,000 hectares of vineyard are currently just under 500 in earnings. The red wines are blended from Gamay (40 to 65%), Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and (2000 to the year) Cabernet Sauvignon. The rose wines are made from Gamay (at least 50%), Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pineau d'Aunis and Pinot Gris. The white wines from Sauvignon Blanc (65 to 80%), Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Arbois generated. Producers are known as François Gazin, Jean-Michel Courtioux, Domaine de la Desoucherie, Domaine de la Gaudronnière, Domaine Maison Pere et Fils, Domaine des Huards and Domaine sucker. The AC also created in 1993 Cour-Cheverny comprises 45 acres in the small town and surrounding villages. It applies to white wines from the indigenous grape variety Romorantin .
