The most important grape varieties
DOC for red, rosé and white wines in the Italian region Lazio . The area includes the municipalities of Latina, Sabaudia, San Felice Circeo and Terracina in the province of Latina. The varietal types Sangiovese Rosato Sangiovese and Trebbiano must be produced from at least 85% of each variety, the remaining 15% can be approved varieties of the same color. The Bianco is made from Trebbiano Toscano (60-100%), Malvasia di Candia pressed (up to 30%), and any other permitted white varieties (up to 30%). Rosso (also called Novello) and Rosato are made from Merlot (at least 85%), and any other permitted red varieties (15%). All these types of wine are matured in Secco and Amabile and produced as Frizzante.
