The most important grape varieties
The high according to its location named Spanish-DO area (Spanish Highlands) lies in the extreme south of the region Catalonia and is bordered to the west of Tarragona on. The vineyards at 400 meters above sea level include 8300 hectares of vineyards, with the white grape varieties Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo (Viura), Moscatel and Parellada, and the red varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cariñena (Carignan), Garnacha Tinta, Merlot planted, Morenillo, Syrah and Tempranillo are. There are also wines for the production of cava , as well as the traditional Catalan products Mistela and Rancio produced.
