DOC region for dry white wines in the Italian region of Trade Marks . The zone covers about 300 hectares in the municipalities of Cerreto d'Esi Fabriano and Ascona in the province and the municipalities of Camerino, Castelraimondo, Esanatoglia, Gagliole, the eponymous Matelica and Pioraco in the province of Macerata. The greenish-yellow wine from Verdicchio pressed (85-100%), and any other permitted white varieties (up to 15%). There is also a rich alcoholic raisin wine and a sparkling wine. The two years matured version Verdicchio Riserva di Matelica was classified in 2010 as DOCG. A larger second Verdicchio DOC zone is Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi .
