Ehrenfelser
The white grape variety (also Geisenheim 9-93) is a new breed between Riesling x Sylvaner, the name derives from the ruins of Ehrenfels from near Rüdesheim. The crossing took place in 1929 in Geisenheim by Dr. Henry Henry Birk (1898-1973). The greenish-yellow wine has a feinduftiges, traubiges bouquet that is similar to Riesling. In 2009 the vine in Germany 85 hectares of vineyards, the tendency is strongly decreasing. She was a partner at the intersection of two new varieties Ehrenbreitsteiner and Principal .
