Fiano
The indigenous white grape variety originally from Italy, where it is mainly in the Campania region is widespread. It occupies some 250 hectares of vineyards. Synonyms are Apiana, Apiano, Fiore Mendillo, Foiano Latina Bianca di Barletta, Latino Bianco, Minutola, Minutolo and Santa Sofia. You or an ancestor was supposedly cultivated by the Romans, which they described for their particular attraction to bees (Apis) as "Vitis apiana". The late-maturing, high yielding grape yields have aromatic white wines with a spicy honey and nut flavors, storage potential. She is in the DOC / DOCG white wines Cilento , and Sannio authorized. The well-known winery Mastroberardino strives especially to this species.
