Finca Allende
The estate is located in the town of Briones, eight kilometers from the town of Haro in the sub-area Spanish Rioja Rioja . The Spanish "allende" means "more" and that's the philosophy of the owner-family. The family de Gregorio has been operating for many generations of wine in Rioja. In 1995 bought Miguel Angel de Gregorio Briones in an old winery building and began the restoration of small parcels of old vines. Originally built in 1760 was expanded and renovated wine cellar. The vineyards cover 42 hectares of vineyards today, are planted mainly with Tempranillo and Graciano something. In traditional winemaking, the grapes are not destemmed and fermented in open concrete tanks two to three weeks, the mash is constantly moving. The wines depending on the vintage of between ten and fifteen months. For the 2200 expansion oak barrels are 80% to 20% of French and American oak from Virginia are available. They are used more than four times. Certain wines are bottled without filtration to preserve the flavor.
