DOC area for white wine in the Italian region Veneto . The zone includes the eponymous municipality Gambellara, as well as the communities of Montebello Vicentino Montorso Vicentino and Zermeghedo in the province of Vicenza. In secco (dry) and Abboccato (slightly sweet) wine is made from Garganega developed (at least 80%), and any other permitted white varieties (up to 20%). Furthermore, there is also a Vin Santo . Wines from the oldest growing area with more stringent regulations (higher alcohol content) may bear the additional title Classico. In late 2008, the variant Recioto di Gambellara (Also Spumante Classico) elevated to DOCG.
