Becker Gernot
The estate is located in the municipality Mettenheim (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing area Rheinhessen . It was the 19th Century by Philip Menger, the great grandfather of current owner established. After training as winemakers took over the operation and Gernot Becker purchased the former estate neighborly Wissmann with building and customer base. He is assisted by his son Amadeus Becker, who served his apprenticeship with some reputable companies Rheinhessen. The vineyards cover about five acres of vineyards in the individual layers Goldberg, Michel and Schlossberg (Mettenheim), and Geyersberg (Bechtheim). They are the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Scheurebe and Bacchus, and the red varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Cabernet Dorsa and Portuguese planted. The white wines are fermented cool, controlled temperature. The red wines after malolactic one year in wooden barrels and casks. Annually produces between 30000-50000 bottles of wine.
