The most important grape varieties
The municipal area of appellation in Burgundy Côte Chalonnaise includes the eponymous town of Givry and parts Dracy-le-Fort and Jambles. The winemakers of Givry proudly say that King Henry IV (1553-1610) before any other wine its best tasted in France, but his frequent visits were not only the wine, but also his lover living here. On the bottle labels is therefore often cited the name of the king's praise. To 90% storable reds from Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, with shares of Pinor Liebault are pressed, the white wines are produced from Chardonnay with proportions of Pinot Blanc. There are over 20 Premiers Crus, the most important of these are mountain Chevaux Bois, Clos Charlé, Clos Saint-Pierre Petit Marole, Petit Prétants, Vaux and Vignes Rouge.
