DOC for red, rosé and white wines in the Italian region of Liguria . The zone covers the hills around Genoa, including a partial area of the city itself, and another 35 municipalities in the province of Genoa. The varietal types Bianchetta Genovese, Ciliegiolo, Moscato (also known as raisin) and Vermentino must contain at least 85% of each variety, the remaining 15% may be varieties of the same color. The Bianco is blended from Vermentino and Bianchetta Genovese (20-70% each) and possibly other permitted white varieties (up to 40%). Rosso and Rosato are produced from Ciliegiolo and Dolcetto (each 20-70%) and possibly other permitted red varieties (40%). Furthermore, there is a white sweet raisin made from dried grapes of approved varieties of white and a white sparkling wine (varieties like the Bianco). Some of the wines there is also a sparkling wine.
