The most important grape varieties
DOC for dry white wine in the Italian region of Campania . The area includes the municipalities of Altavilla Irpinia, Chiance, Montefusco, Petruro Irpino, Prata di Principato Ultra, Santa Paolina, and the eponymous Torrioni Tufo in the province of Avellino. The dry wine is made Greco Bianco (85-100%) and possibly Coda di Volpe (15%), pressed and has a bouquet of roasted almonds. There is also a Spumante version. Almost the entire production is attributable to the large estate Mastroberardino . In 2003, still wine and sparkling wine for the DOCG classification has been granted.
