The appeal lies in the wine growing region of the Loire in a semicircle around the city of Nantes on the Atlantic coast as an enclave in the large area . The former VDQS area was classified in 2012 as an AOP. The name derives from the main grape variety Gros Plant, a synonym for the variety Folle Blanche. This species has been here since the 16th Century, grown and wine produced from the most popular among the Dutch and was partly responsible for the distillation is used.
