Single location in the village Walporzheim in the German region Ahr . The name probably goes back to the Romans cultivated wine here, and herbs. The location is already known for ages as one of the best in the Ahr. It surrounds a large extent, the small single vineyard champagne fermentation . Includes the south-facing, terraced vineyard in 110 to 180 meters above sea level with 15 to 60% gradient five hectares of vineyards. The stony soil consists of weathered greywacke and shale with fine sandy loam. To 90% of this Pinot Noir, and Dornfelder and Muller-Thurgau is grown. Shares in the position as the producers have Ahr Winzer eG , Peter Kriechel , Meyer Näkel , Vineyard Sonnenberg and winegrowers Walporzheim .
