Schneider Jakob
The traditional winery located in the municipality in the German region Niedernhausen Near . It was founded in 1575 and is now run by James and Monika Schneider. Son Jacob lends a hand with the operations and is responsible for the junior-called elite. To 80% on steep slopes vineyards cover 15 hectares located in the layers Steyer rocks , Hermannshöhle , Kertz , Gorge , Rosenberg (single location, Germany) and Rosenheck (Niedernhausen) and Dellchen and Cherry Tail (Norheim). They are 90% with Riesling (13.5 ha), and the varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, planted Dornfelder, Silvaner and Pinot Noir. In the vineyard, great emphasis is placed on the conservation of soil flora and fauna, which is achieved through careful pest management. As a quality-enhancing measures is a greatly reduced gate. The musts are fermented in small tanks or refrigerated oak barrels with an intended duration of three to four weeks.
