The estate is located in the municipality Ürzig (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing area Moselle . The family operates Christoffel here for over 400 years of winemaking. The manor house is a beautifully restored half-timbered house dating from the 17th Century. Under the grandfather of current owner, Hans Leo Christoffel acquired the property a widespread reputation as one of the best producers of classic Mosel Riesling. Since 2001, the vineyards are from the estate of Robert Eymael Mönchhof Robert Eymael leased. The wines made in a closed part of the estate. Hans Leo Christoffel is also still active with his advice. The vineyards cover 3.5 hectares of vineyards in the layers Podium (Earth) and Würzgarten (Ürzig). They are exclusively planted with ungrafted Riesling vines, some of which are over 100 years old.
