The estate is located in the city of Bolzano (Bozen) in the Italian wine sector South Tyrol (Area Trentino-Alto Adige ). The traditional courtyard has been named as 1278 "Dornhof". Its present name from the estate of the owner, Josef Anton Schloterpöck, which was mentioned in 1777 as "Kandler" (tinsmith). In 1793 the farm was purchased by John Spornberger. Today it is run by his descendants and Irene Martin Spornberger. The long family-owned in 1993 by the Province of South Tyrol with the title "family farm" account. The vineyards are planted with the varieties Vernatsch, Lagrein and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines are variety and in large wooden barrels typically extended position and a DOC Santa Maddalena and South Tyrol produced. The winery is a member of the vintners association "free vintners South."

Clear, refreshing, slightly nutty nose, preserved and partly candied red berries, almonds, hint of black berries, delicate hint of dried flowers. Ripe, partly preserved fruit on the palate, more almonds and some milk chocolate, dried vegetal and spicy notes in the background, earthy traces, fairly persistent, good finish.

Fairly cool, tart red berries on the nose, still slightly reductive, vegetal, herbaceous and mineral notes. Partly preserved red fruit on the palate, herbs and spices, mature tannins, good persistence, fairly full-bodied, noticeable but well integrated alcohol, mineral notes in the background, almonds and more noticeable alcohol on a fairly good finish.
