The cooperative winery is located in the municipality Kurtatsch (Cortaccia) in the Italian wine sector South Tyrol (Area Trentino-Alto Adige ). It was founded in 1900. In recent years a complete change of course and extensive investments made by a total of five million euros for modernization and enlargement of basement, renovation of the building and a new bottling plant. Serves as chairman since December 2007 Edmund Moran Dell, as Butler is responsible Othmar Dona. Sales and marketing are conducted in May 2008 by Dr. Paul Valle. The vineyards cover 165 hectares of vineyards, which are managed by 200 Members. Following the French model has long been an ideal layer-tuning is common varieties (varieties suitable for each location). There are the white varieties Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Müller-Thurgau, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Goldmuskateller, and the red wines Lagrein, Vernatsch (Trollinger), Moscato Rosa, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet processed Franc and Merlot. The wines are made with strictly selected grapes optimal physiological maturity expanded with pure uncompromising winemaking, depending on the type and variety of wine in steel tanks, large wooden cask or barrel. They are the three classic lines (base), produces Collection (documents) and Premium (only the best vintages). The Vernatsch is also in the DOC designations South Tyrol , Kalterersee and Santa Maddalena offered. Prior to bottling takes a rigorous taste test.

2008-07-15 (90): Concentrated nose, citrus zests, oranges, candied yellow fruit, rosewood, light mineral notes and a hint of bacon, herbaceous notes. Soft and very compact on the palate, oranges, gentle complex yellow fruit, candied lemon, cistrus zests, oapaya, baked banana, rose liqueur and tea leaves, elegant, integrated acidity, high alcohol hardly noticeable, but provides the wine with volume and warmth, extremely rife, delicvate bitter notes, melon and herbaceous notes on a very long finish.

Dried red and black berries on the nose, hint of honey and some sweetish tart notes of gingerbread spice, peppery notes, smoky and roasted notes. Full-bodied, creamy and sweet on the palate, ripe fruit, moderate tannins, elegant acidity, more cake spice on the palate, nutty and roasted notes, persistent and has some depth, some dried rose petals and rose wood, good grip on a very good finish.

Still in excellent condition.
2008-07-15 (86): Gooseberries and elderberries on the nose, grassy vegetal notes, herbs and spices, bell peppers. More bell peppers on the palate, herbs and stinging nettles, some yellwo fruit, persistent but not overpowering, has some character, its cool, playful style also clearls shows its origins, integrated acidity, medium body, refreshing, attractive to good finish.

Cool and fairly light-bodied on the palate, roasted spicy oak, partly preserved berry fruit, spicy undergrowth, slightly bitter with a hint of pimento, integrated tannins, has some substance, very slightly alcoholic in spite of the cool style, dark chocolate on a good finish.
