Kimich

The winery "Jul. Ferd. Kimich is "in the community Deidesheim (range Mittelhaardt-German Wine Route) in the German wine-growing area Palatine . It was founded in 1758 by immigrants from the Alsace wine coopers Andreas Kimich. In 1949 Joachim Arnold married into the family. Today is the seventh and eighth operating in generation of the family of Francis Arnold and his son Matthew is out. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vines in the individual layers Grain Hubel , Herrgottsacker , Limekiln , Kieselberg , Leinhöhle, Mäushöhle and Garden of Eden (Deidesheim) Linsenbusch and equestrian trail (Ruppertsberg), and Pechstein and monsters (forest). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling (70%), Pinot Gris, Muller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay and Scheurebe, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir and Regent. It is consistently near-natural, environmentally friendly viticulture to ökologischen practices perspective. In the two hundred year old wine cellar, the wines in large oak barrels and stainless steel tanks are removed. Every year around 70,000 liters of wine are produced, of which 70% dry. There are also sparkling wines, sparkling wines and spirits flaschenvergorene (pomace, five years in cask aged brandy).
