Kremstal
The Austrian wine region is one of eight of the state of Lower Austria and covers 2243 hectares. It lies to the east adjacent to the Wachau Valley and is named after the river meandering through the area. The Kremstal extends north and south of the Danube and includes the city Krems The east, and these small communities south of the Danube. Strongly associated with the area is the 1,000-year history of wine-making dynasty Moser. The Austrian wine-growing pioneer Lawrence Lenz Moser III. (1905-1978) from the community village near Krems pipe led from the year 1929, he created training system "high culture" in his vineyards, which soon became a standard.
As soil type predominates bedrock and loess, the relatively cool and humid Atlantic climate is dominated by the positive influence of the Pannonian climate. In particular, the Danube valley is deeply incised pleasant climate. In the larger and the forest district counted, the northern part is the wine-growing center Krems on the Danube with the district stone. In the fall of 2007, the source-controlled quality level Kremstal DAC introduced with two approved varieties. The wines may be marketed either as Kremstal DAC GrĂĽner Veltliner or Riesling Kremstal DAC. The Blend is based on the annual survey conducted in 2009 Weingarten. Compared to the last survey in 1999, there were no significant changes. The proportion of red wines has increased to a lesser extent than in other wine-growing areas by just 5%. The two varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc 1999 were not recorded in common:
