The Grand Cru terroir lies in the Burgundian village Vosne-Romanée (Côte d'Or). It covers six hectares of vineyards. The name means literally "arduous task" (just trying to obtain something). In 1791 the legendary vineyards of Claude Marey from the family Liger-Belair has been acquired, one of the largest and oldest wine-merchant houses in Burgundy . The areal extension of the Premier Cru Les Gaudichots location followed in 1924. Since 1933, La Tâche wholly owned (monopoles) of the famous vineyard Domaine de la Romanee-Conti . As in 1945, the Grand Cru terroir Romanee-Conti was replanted, the vines of La Tâche served as the basis for this. In both positions were ungrafted up to this time, the vines and were against the Phylloxera with carbon disulfide combat (see also Kultural process ). Both layers were then replanted with grafted vines, the first wines were produced after that until 1952. Mainly from Pinot Noir, with small amounts of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liebault gekelterte red wine is among the most expensive and best in the world, it develops only after at least 15 years of his potential.
