The Grand Cru terroir lies in the Burgundian village Vosne-Romanée (Côte d'Or) above the Grand Cru terroir Romanee-Conti . With only 0.83 hectares of vineyard on a very steep slope, this is the smallest appellation in France. The entire vineyard is part of the Domaine Château de Vosne-Romanée, which is owned by the family Liger-Belair. The product is marketed since 1976 by the trading company Bouchard Pere et Fils . The red wine is made mainly from Pinot Noir, with small amounts of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liebault and is stored for decades. Each year, only 3,000 bottles are produced.
