The Austrian wine region is one of four of the federal state of Burgenland , and covers 7649 hectares. It is named after the 320 km ² and 36 km long basin. In the vernacular, the area is mostly "Seewinkel" as referred to, because it is angled conforms to the lake. From the north of the province, the area extends to the north and along the entire eastern shore of lake-to Hungary border.
