The most important grape varieties
Named after the city of the same appellation in the wine region Languedoc . Limoux is a sparkling center of the region, but there is also a white still wine produced. This was until 1993 a varietal wine pressed from the variety Mauzac, which is here called Blanquette. Since then he has to do at least 15% Mauzac included and must be complemented by Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. Well-known producers are Domaine de l'Aigle, Domaine de Fourn and Domaine de Martin Olle. The sparkling wines are Blanquette de Limoux and Crémant de Limoux produces.
