The most important grape varieties
Next Montagne , Puisseguin and Saint-Georges one of the four communities that are outside of the appellation Saint-Émilion (Bordeaux) just north of the river are Barbanne. This may also give four names on their labels or in this case-Lussac Saint-Emilion. The red wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc blended and are similar to those of Saint-Emilion. The best-known wineries are Chateau Barbe-Blanche, Chateau Bel-Air, Château de Bellevue, Château de la Grenière, Château de Lussac, Château du Château Mayne-Blanc and Lyonnat.
