The white grape variety (also FR 493-87) is a new breed of Solaris x Muscat. It has (by the father places GM 6493 and GM 6494 Solaris) genes of Vitis amurensis is, but not as a hybrid . The crossing was made in 1987 by Norbert Norbert Becker (B. 1937) at the National Institute of Viticulture Freiburg (Germany) (Baden-Wuerttemberg). The mid-early ripening grape has a high resistance to both mildew , the tendency to Coulure is low. It provides strong, acid-stressed white wine with intense Muscat and smoky note. The Plant Variety Protection is pending. There are small collections in Austria, where it is authorized for wines without GIs.
