The most important grape varieties
The appeal lies in the far west of the wine region Languedoc in the vicinity of the areas Limoux and Cabardès . The former VDQS area "Côtes de la Malepère" was classified in 2007 under the new name. The vineyard covers 620 hectares of vineyards on clay-limestone soils and gentle slopes in the foothills of the Pyrenees in 39 municipalities in the department of Aude. The red and rosé wines are blended from a mixture of Bordeaux and Languedoc varieties. For the reds, Merlot (zum. 50%), Cabernet Franc and Malbec allowed (zum. 20%), and your choice of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Grenache Noir and Lledoner Pelut. The rosé wines made from Cabernet Franc (zum. 50%) and Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Malbec, Merlot and Grenache (20% zum.). Well-known producers are Domaine des Bruyère, La Cave Malepère, Domaine de Matibat and Cave du Château de Razès and Routier.
