Maso Happacherhof
The estate is located in the town of Ora (Ora) in the Italian wine sector South Tyrol (Area Trentino-Alto Adige ). The origin goes back to the early 17th century. The name is derived from a previous owner's family Happacher. After a checkered history of the approximately 16 large comprehensive estate in 1983 was purchased by the provincial government and put the Secondary School of Agriculture in Auer as exercise yard is available. Director is Dr. Franz Tutzer as winemaker Bernhard Pichler is responsible. In a variety of South Tyrol district all varieties are kept and can be found here in the various wine-growing common Training system . The four varieties Merlot, Lagrein, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are grown on four acres on a larger scale. The vines of the variety Lagrein is managed according to organic standards (organic) and is certified in accordance with, the remaining area is under the criteria of KIP (Controlled and integrated production) is cultivated. The wines are DOC South Tyrol produced.

Quite a firm nose, preserved sour cherries, black berries and some plums, spicy oak and some dark chocolate, tart herbaceous notes, hint of licorice and varnish. Concentrated on the palate, juicy but also has prominent spicy oak and chocolate, medium-fine, partly mature, partly slightly astringent tannins, very full-bodied and creamy, fairly persistent, noticeable alcohol and some varnish again, slightly overdone, good finish.

Very ripe and slightly jammy cranberries and cassis on the nose, herbs and spices, very mature, hint of anise and coconut, some chocolate in the background. Juicy and very full-bodied on the palate, also has some cool elements, some braised and caramelized bell peppers, chocolate and some nougat, slightly peppery with some salty mineral spice, creamy, good grip, fine sandy tannins, sugar candy, quite a hedonistic style, slightly superficial with slightly too sweet oak, good to very good finish.
