The most important grape varieties
The same city named after the local appellation with 364 hectares of vineyards located in the Bourgogne region Côte d'Or (Côte de Beaune). Small areas in the community Blagny are likewise included. The place is also known as the "capital of the Burgundian whites." Received in the Meursault Cistercian the Duke of Burgundy on Christmas Day 1098 their first year of its founding vineyard as a gift. The most important of numerous premiers crus vineyards of 160 hectares are Bouchères, charm, Genevrières, Goutte d'Or, Poruzot, Perrières (Grand Cru-worthy), sous le Bois Pièce, Poruzots, and Sous le Dos Santenots d'Ane. As a special feature, there is an AC-Volnay Premier Cru Santenots only for red wines, which was already settled in court in 1924. These vineyards are confusingly but not in the neighboring community Volnay But just in Meursault. Alternative appellations are Meursault Premier Cru-Blagny for white wines from specific locations to Blagny, Meursault, Côte de Beaune, Meursault, only for red wines and white wines from Santenots for Premier Cru in Volnay of particular sector-Santenots. Well-known producers are Ampeau, Bichot (Domaine du Pavillon), Bouchard Pere et Fils , Boyer-Martenot, Coche-Dury, Joseph Drouhin , Fichet, Grivault, Javillier, Lafon, Javillier, Jobard, Domaine Leroy , Michelot, Morey and Domaine Roulot .
