The most important grape varieties
DOC area (also briefly Molise) for a wide range of red and white wines in the Italian region of Molise . The vast area includes a total of 65 municipalities in the two provinces of Campobasso and Isernia. The varietal wines must contain at least 85% of each grape variety, the rest may be other varieties of the same color. These are the types of Aglianico (also known as Reserve) Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Falanghina, Greco Bianco, Montepulciano, Moscato (also in Spumante Secco and Dolce, as well as raisin wine), Pinot Blanc, Sangiovese, Sauvignon, Nero Grande Bovale Tintilia = ( as Riserva) and Trebbiano. Novello Rosso and are pressed from Montepulciano (85-100%), and any other permitted red varieties (15%). With 12.5% alcohol content and two years of aging may be the Rosso reserve call. Many of the wines are also produced as a sparkling wine or sparkling wine.
