Famous single vineyard in the community forest in the area Mittelhaardt, Great location in the German region Mariengarten Palatine . It lies at the foot of the Haardt Mountains at an altitude 130-170 meters. The German Chancellor Prince Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898)-validated after drinking a Riesling from this vineyard location of Reichsrat von Buhl the saying: "This monster my taste tremendously." He made the location famous. Bismarck got his way on the occasion of 68th Anniversary of the winery Bassermann-Jordan a bottle of the legendary 1811er paid out of the situation. The term "Forster monster" comes from a clerk with the name of Johann Adam monster Deidesheim of 1699, thus its name "immortalized" on immortal way. The name also has nothing to do with a monster, though standing at the entrance and exit of two stone forts monster.
The cover to the south and south-oriented vineyards with up to 30% slope just under 33 acres, approximately 30% are terraced. The soil consists of weathered sandstone with limestone scree and volcanic basalt with profound subfloor with a good Water storage capacity . The stocked mainly with Riesling is capable of this sort almost predestined. Furthermore, there are small holdings of Scheurebe.
