Spumante, VSQ, Monte Cicogna Az. Agr. ss

Deep gold colour. Mature, slightly yeasty nose, partly dried pomaceous fruit, some caramel and sugar candy, spicy vegetal notes, hint of dried flowers. Fairly sweet fruit on the palate, mature and creamy, some dried and candied pomaceous fruit, hint of banana and vanilla, delicate oxidative traces, fine, moderate mousse, good persistence, candied nuts, delicate oxidative notes and sweetish juicy notes on the finish.

Fairly mature nose, candied nuts, partly dried and caramelized pomaceous fruit, spicy vegetal notes, yeasty notes. Tart spicy fruit on the palate, vegetal, yeasty and nutty aromas, medium-fine, lively mousse, harmonious and fairly persistent, light tannic touch, has some depth, very harmonious, good to very good finish.

2001, Garda Classico DOC, Superiore, Don Lisander®, to about 10.00 €
Red wine, Lombardy, Monte Cicogna Az. Agr. ss

Mature, fairly open nose, berries and plums, cedary and spicy notes, malted notes and nuts, touch of chocolate. Very mature again on the palate, slightly sweetish, but also bitter, harmoniously integrated herbs, berry fruit and oak, some more cedary notes, warm and quite supple, spicy notes in the background, integrated tannins, still quite complex and focussed, for those who enjoy an almost overly amture wine, quite a good finish with old, dry oak and cedar.

2008-08-14 (85): Dried berries and fruit marinated in rum on the mature nose, dried herbs, undergrowth and gingerbread spice. Mature again on the palate, but still ively and persistent, slightly tart, partly dried berries, some dried herbs, old oak and orange zests, integrated, slightly dusty tannins, delicate bitter notes, slightly astringent on a good long finish.

Mature nose, preserved berries, some cherries, herbaceous notes, hint of dark chocolate. Fairly light-bodied on the palate, starting to dry out, dissolute mature fruit, slightly bitter herbaceous notes, fairly prominent fine-grained tannins, still has some substance, but already rather alcoholic on an astringent, otherwise attractive to good finish.

Red berries on the nose, herbaceous and light earthy notes, hint of bitter almonds. Uncomplicated style, light-bodied, polished, slightly bitter red berry fruit, integrated acidity, pleasant to drink, shows its origin, delicate tart vegetal notes on an attractive finish.

Fairly shy pomaceous fruit on the nose, tart vegetal and light mineral notes, touch of rubber. Light-bodied fruit on the palate, more prominent vegetal notes, some rubber, elegant tart spice, light tannic touch, earthy notes, tart with slightly astringent notes on an attractive to good finish.

Fairly shy nose, very slight oxidative notes, fairly mature, berries and red fruit marinated in rum, touch of undergrowth and rubber. Mature on the palate, but quite firm, delicate spice, partly preserved and partly dried red berry fruit, not particularly deep, fine-grained and rather astringent tannins, detracts from an otherwise attractive to good finish.

Gentle red berry nose, hint of marzipan, delicate spice and floral notes. Delicate tart notes, soft, preserved red currant and rosehip fruit on the palate, quite elegant and fairly persistent, moderate tannins, has some substance, and shows its origins, harmonious and refreshing, good finish.

Restrained, shy nose with a hint of yellow fruit, slightly tart with light vegetal notes. Tart, polished apple fruit on the palate, hint of oranges, noticeably rough tannins, carbon dioxide makes the wine a little hard, fairly prominent and partly integrated polished acidity, hassome substance, attractive finish.

Gentle, soft nose with notes of partly candied yellow fruit and some herbaceous notes. Some artificial yellow fruit on the palate, approachable and polished, integrated acidity, notes of candied yellow fruit, harmonious, but not a lot of substance, slightly blunt on an otherwise attractive finish.
