DOC for red and white wines in the Italian region of Tuscany . The zone includes the southern slopes of the eponymous town Monte Carlo, as well as parts of communities Altopasico, Capannori and Porcari in the province of Lucca. The Bianco is made from Trebbiano Toscano (40-60%) in any combination of Sémillon, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Blanc, Roussanne, Vermentino and Sauvignon Blanc blended (40-60%). The Rosso (also known as Reserve) is made from Sangiovese (50-75%) in any mixture of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Ciliegiolo, Canaiolo, Malvasia, Merlot and Syrah (10-15%), Canaiolo Nero (5-15 %), and any other approved varieties (up to 20% of production). The white Vin Santo (in Secco and Amabile, and both Reserve) is made ​​from Trebbiano Toscano (40-60%) and Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Roussanne, Sauvignon, Semillon and Vermentino (40-60%) blended. The rosé Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice (also known as Reserve) is generated in the same mixture as the Rosso.
