The most important grape varieties
DOCG (also Sagrantino di Montefalco) for red wine in the Italian region of Umbria . The DOCG classification was granted in 1992. The zone includes the entire municipality of Montefalco (under that name, it is also a DOC for red and white wines) and parts of the communities in Assisi, Castel Ritaldi, Giano and Montefalco Umbria in the province of Perugia. The Secco is pressed 100% unmixed from the eponymous Sagrantino variety. He has an alcohol content of 13% vol. The sweet raisin wine is made from grapes rosinierten and has a minimum alcohol content of 14.5% vol. Both wines aging of at least 30 months is required. Well-known producers are Adanti, Antonelli San Marco , Bocale, Caprai, Colpetrone, Goretti, Lungarotti , Perticaia, Rocca di Fabbri, and Terre de Trinci Scacciadiavoli.
